APD arrests four men following car, foot chase

The Amarillo Police Department has arrested four men after a car and foot chase in west Amarillo.

Names of the four men and the charges against them were unavailable as of Friday afternoon, according to APD Officer Jeb Hilton.

Just after 11 a.m. Friday, an APD officer spotted black Honda Civic driving without a license plate near the intersection of Jennie Avenue and Teckla Boulevard and attempted to initiate a traffic stop.

The driver of the car refused to stop and drove to the 5000 block of Everett Avenue before stopping the car in an alley.

At that time, the driver and three passengers exited the car and attempted to run from the area on foot. APD officers were able to capture all four men shortly after.

The four men were arrested and have been booked into the Randall County Jail.

APD is still investigating why the men attempted to flee from the officers.
