McMurray: Trump is doing what we elected him to do

In the first 200 days since President Donald Trump took office and started to repair the damage to America over the past 10 years, the largest obstacle Trump has to overcome is that he beat Hillary Clinton.

Trump didn’t factor in that all of the lame media press (including Fox News), Democrats and a select number of the establishment (code name for RINOS) who would begin an orchestrated effort to run him out of the office to which the American people elected him.

Being that most Democrats in Congress since 1977 were lawyers, they started doing the one thing that they could do better than spend taxpayer money - litigate. Liberals decided to stall every item on the president’s agenda and replace it with innuendo, lies and party jealousy to stop his vision of what he could do for the American people.

Here are some of the innuendos I would like to address:

• The president’s tax returns and his failure to report his income. Does anyone think that the liberal Lois Lerner (former IRS tax official) would have let any wrong behavior concerning Trump get by her if she could destroy the person liberals hated? Not a chance. Again, it is not a crime to be successful unless you are a conservative.

• About the border fence, and who was going to pay for the fence - this is subjective. If illegals cannot enter the country easily, then they will not receive the money for entitlements like health care, food stamps, housing, etc., paid for by taxpayers. This way, Mexico will be paying for the fence. Mexico will also miss the billions transferred each year back to Mexico, as will other countries sending their people to America illegally.

• President Trump not being a career politician, he had some people in place that could not do the job he expected them to do, and he replaced them. This is no different than any boss of a large group of employees. At least he didn’t keep them around making errors in judgment. For example, when Americans were killed in Benghazi and the truth was not told as to what happened.

• On the subject of nepotism, I was surprised a conservative did not remember who came up with the health care bill in the 1990s when Bill Clinton was in office. I can remember Hillary Clinton’s hands all over that bill. Thank God the House and Senate did not pass it, and she went back to baking cookies and being a homemaker. I guess if she had won the office to which she thought she was entitled, she could have fulfilled her statement that if she was elected, what better person could she have advising her than her husband, who was so brilliant at being president? (And working with interns.)

• And last but not least, Trump has been married numerous times, but maybe he should have just stayed married and fooled around like other presidents (Kennedy, Clinton) and other Democrats. President Trump, in a classic locker room conversation, talked about groping women. However, we know of another president who did far worse than have a sexual conversation with a young woman, and it cost him. This president was impeached for lying to a federal grand jury about his less-than-Christian values, but the RINOS involved in the impeachment process refused to execute the crime.

Liberals, the lame media, RINOS and anyone else who thinks President Trump is weakened and can ruffle his feathers - get a grip. He still has seven-plus years to complete his vision and make America great again. The polls do not represent the voters who support President Trump. I feel he is doing the job we elected him to do.
