The Amarillo Museum of Art’s annual AMoA Open Hang will be presented at the museum beginning with a reception at 7 p.m. Saturday and will remain in place through January 14.
“It’s a chance to get artwork shown and on a museum wall and in front of an audience,” AMoA director Alex Gregory said.
Artists of all ages desiring to participate in the AMoA Open Hang will need to bring their artwork to the museum located on the Amarillo College Washington Street campus between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday.
“Visitors can expect to see everything from paintings, to photography, to sculptures, to sculpture, to pottery,” Gregory said.
Artists are expected to hang or place their own artwork and are limited to one piece.
“Any artist, any age can participate,” Gregory said. “My three children participated last year. I give them a canvas and let them create.”
The exhibition can be viewed each day during museum hours — 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
“The show will run through the 14th (of January) and is free to the public,” Gregory said.
