Christmas Events for the week of Dec. 24, 2017

St. Luke Presbyterian Church, 3001 Bell St., hosts a Christmas Eve brunch at 9:30 a.m. today. The worship service at 11 a.m. will be “come as you are.” The chancel choir will present “The Christ Child,” a medley of traditional and contemporary carols, directed by Dr. Bob Hansen with Cathy Weber as featured soloist. The choir will be led by and accompanied by Mila Abbasova and a woodwind quartet. The Christmas Joy Offering will be received during this service.

 

At 6:30 p.m., a candlelight service of Lessons and Carols will precede celebration of Communion.

First Christian Church at 3001 Wolflin Ave., will have its Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 6 p.m. today. It will feature traditional Christmas carols, special music by soloists from the Sanctuary Choir and a living nativity scene portrayed by the children of the church. All are invited to attend, and a nursery will be provided.

Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church at 3500 Bowie St. will have its Christmas Eve services today at 9:30 a.m. (traditional) and 7 and 10 p.m. (candlelight).

Central Baptist Church at 1601 S.W. 58th Ave. will have its Candlelight Service at 6 p.m. today. There will be music specials and the congregation will sing Christmas carols. A Bible message relating to the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ will be given by the pastor.

Bell Avenue Baptist Community, 5211 Bell St., will have its Candlelight Service at 7 p.m. today. There will be singing of carols, a time for reflection, and prayer.

Grace Church, 4111 Plains Blvd., invites the public for a Christmas Eve service at 6 p.m. today. Sunday Morning Services will still be at 9 and 11 a.m.

Amarillo Fellowship Church, 8425 Bell St., will host a family-friendly, production style Christmas Eve service today at 9:30 a.m. that includes a Bing Crosby style of White Christmas, candlelight carols and mesmerizing creative elements. Grab your friends and family to join in at 9:30 a.m .or 11:15 a.m. Childcare is provided for 5 and under.

Faith Clinic Christian Center Church, 2000 N. Polk St., will host a special Christmas Eve service today at 11 a.m.

Pleasant Valley United Methodist, 316 Valley Ave., will host a candlelight service today at 5 p.m. with carols, special music, a message of hope, and communion.

South Georgia Church of The Nazarene, 5016 Susan Drive, will host a candlelight service today at 6 p.m. with carols and scripture.

Tascosa Road Fellowship, 200 Tascosa Road, will host a Family Christmas Eve service today at 10 a.m. There will be no nursery and no Children’s Church.

South Georgia Baptist Church, 5209 S. Georgia St., will host a Christmas Eve Worship Service at 5 p.m. that includes carols, the Christmas story, and a special candle-lighting. Childcare will be available for babies and toddlers.

Arena of Life, 8827 S. Washington St., will host a candlelight celebration today at 10 a.m.

St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church Amarillo, 1601 S. Georgia St., will host a “Feast of the Nativity” Holy Eucharist, Rite II celebration, with full choir and other musical accompaniment. The 5:30 p.m. service will be the most child-friendly with nursery available, too. The 9:30 p.m. service will include incense. All are welcome.

Covenant Fellowship, 8501 S. Coulter St., will host a casual service with carols by candlelight today at 6:30 p.m.

More Church, 5511 W. Amarillo Blvd., will have one morning service at 10:30 a.m. and the annual Christmas Eve service from 5:30-6 p.m. The morning service will include a special short children’s program.
