Faith events for the week of Feb. 11, 2018

First Christian Church, 3001 Wolflin Ave., will have an Ash Wednesday service at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in Robison Chapel. Everyone is invited.

Because of a flood in the former Diocesan Museum of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Amarillo, all books from the collection donated by Father Ken Keller of the former Benedictine Monastery in Canyon and from the Bishop Lawrence J. FitzSimon collection are now available for the taking at the new Diocesan Museum at 4512 N.W. 24th Ave, inside the Diocesan Pastoral Center, on Monday through Friday until March 1. For more details, call Susan Garner at 806-414-1076.

At the invitation of parishes in the Catholic Diocese of Amarillo, Christopher West and his event team (musician Mike Mangione and visual director Jason Clark) will bring their new event “Made for More” to Amarillo from 7 to 9:30 p.m. March 22 at St. Mary’s Cathedral. West is the world’s most popular author and speaker on Pope John Paul II’s “theology of the body” teachings that have sparked worldwide discussion on the meaning of life, love and human destiny.

West is widely known in Catholic and a growing number of Christian circles for his best-selling books and presentations and is a touring Americana-folk musician. The event launched in November with two sold-out evenings in New Jersey and began its 2018 global tour on Feb. 2 in Kansas.

Christian rock groups “Skillet” and “for KING & COUNTRY” will unite for “joy.UNLEASHED | The Tour” in performance at the Amarillo Civic Center Complex on April 12. Tickets can be purchased online at panhandletickets.com and by phone at 806-378-3096. Tickets are available in person at the Amarillo Civic Center Complex box office and in participating United Supermarkets in Amarillo, Canyon, Borger, Dumas, Dalhart, Hereford and Pampa.
