Regarding the recent column by (AGN Media Director of Commentary) Dave Henry (Henry: The pen is not always mightier than the sword, Jan. 6, amarillo.com), I couldn’t agree more with Henry.
From what I see in the media and read in the newspaper, it seems we have a new politically correct concept called “tolerance.”
The concept seems to be that if you have something you like or have something to say and somebody is offended by it, you have to take it away.
What you like or have to say is replaced by the person who didn’t like what you like or have to say with something which they choose. And even if you don’t like it, you are still expected to accept their replacement. And if you do not accept their replacement, then you are a bigot.
I’m not quite sure how that equates to tolerance, since the concept is one-sided, but that seems to be the new frightening normal.
