One person is dead following a three-vehicle accident Tuesday morning at the intersection of Southwest 45th Avenue and South Georgia Street.
Amarillo Police Department was called to the scene at 6:54 a.m. after a gold-colored GMC Envoy heading southbound on Georgia collided with the driver’s side of a white two-door Chevrolet.
Police said the collision caused the GMC to spin and then collide with the front of a black Hyundai stopped in a turn lane, causing minor damage to that vehicle.
The impact sent the Chevrolet south of the intersection before it stopped on the west side of Georgia, investigators said.
The driver of the Chevrolet — Ismael Santoyo Rosales, 51, of Tulia — was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Clay Houdashell, who ordered an autopsy.
Each vehicle had only one occupant, and no other drivers were injured.
