The League of Women Voters will host a program meeting on services provided by the Area Agency on Aging at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Saltgrass Steakhouse, 8300 W. Interstate 40, according to a news release.
The public is invited, and attendees will order individually from the menu.
The program’s guest speaker will be Kathryn English, administrative assistant for the Ombudsman Program of the AAA, who will give an overview of services provided by the agency and highlight the work of the Ombudsman Program.
As an Ombudsman, English, a 2016 graduate of West Texas A&M University, serves as an advocate for the health, safety, welfare and rights of residents of long-term care facilities in the Texas Panhandle.
PEO schedules Founder’s Day meeting
The Founder’s Day Meeting for the P.E.O. Council of the Panhandle of Texas, hosted by Chapters AI and AN, will be January 27 at Park Central Community Parlor, 1300 S. Harrison St., according to a news release.
The business meeting will begin at 11:15 a.m. and a buffet lunch will be served at 11:45 a.m.
The cost of the luncheon is $15, and reservations can be made to Chapter AI, Sabrina Krieg at firstname.lastname@example.org by Wednesday.
All P.E.O. members are invited to attend.
Amarillo Republican Women to host monthly meeting
The Amarillo Republican Women will host their monthly meeting at 11:45 a.m. Thursday at the Amarillo Country Club’s Acacia/Vista Rooms, 4800 Bushland Ave., according to a news release.
The program will include a candidate meet-and-greet for the local races coming up for the March primary. Contested races will have the candidates address the group. The attendees will have the opportunity to meet all candidates in attendance in order to form an opinion on who to vote for in the upcoming election.
