DPS seizes $300K in methamphetamine after I-40 stop

The Texas Department of Public Safety seized more than $300,000 in methamphetamine during a Monday morning traffic stop.

At approximately 9:48 a.m., a trooper stopped a 2010 Toyota passenger car traveling east on Interstate 40 near Conway for an unspecified traffic violation, according to a DPS news release. The trooper then discovered three tape-wrapped containers of methamphetamine inside the door panels worth approximately $313,000.

Tevin Byers and Natasha Jamas of Palmdale, Calif., and Porsha Lloyd of Los Angeles were arrested and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance.

Byers, 24, Jamas, 35, and Lloyd, 30, were booked into the Carson County jail.

The drugs were allegedly being transported from Palmdale to Oklahoma City.
