Mason was recently promoted from captain in the Amarillo Fire Department Rescue Program to district chief of support/aircraft rescue fire fighting (ARFF).


Ryan Caperton

Capterton has been promoted from AFD lieutenant to captain. With 11 years experience, his current assignment is within the rescue program at Fire Station 13.


Kevin McLeland

McLeland has been promoted from the position of driver to lieutenant. With 25 years experience his current assignment is as a communications supervisor at the Amarillo Emergency Communications Center (AECC).

Celebrating 25 years with the city, Shipp is an Equipment Operator IV in the Street Department. He operates a motor-grader and oversees one of the department’s major asphalt repair operations in paved streets and alleys.

After 45 years of service to the Texas A&M University System, including being the center director for the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center in Amarillo for the past 21 years, Sweeten has decided to retire.
