Lady Buffs move up in latest WBCA poll

The West Texas A&M Lady Buffs have moved up to No. 2 in the latest Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Division II Top-25 Poll, announced Thursday.

 

WT is coming off a pair of back-to-back wins on Monday and Tuesday at the Vikings Holiday Hoops Classic against Simon Fraser and host school Western Washington.

The Lady Buffs make the jump to second in the nation thanks to an 11-0 overall start and a 4-0 start in the Lone Star Conference.

Defending Division II national champion Ashland (12-0) picked up all 23 possible first place votes for a total of 575 points followed by the Lady Buffs(547)

WT is the only LSC school in the poll. The South Central Region is represented by Lubbock Christian University at No. 4, and Fort Lewis at No. 15.

The Lady Buffs return to action when they host the University of the Southwest on Dec. 29 at 5:30 p.m.
