WT pitcher Kasowski earns more All-American honors

West Texas A&M junior pitcher Marshall Kasowski earned second-team All-American honors from the American Baseball Coaches Association this week.

Kasowski struck out a WT and Lone Star Conference record 165 on his way to a 9-5 record and 2.22 ERA. He also led Division II in strikeouts per nine innings with 15.91.

The native of Conroe, Texas, had 11 starts of double-digit strikeouts, including a school-record 17 in a 2-1 win at Eastern New Mexico March 24.

Kasowski also earned second-team All-American honors from the NCAA Division II Conference Commissioners Association (CCA) and third-team honors from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA). He was named LSC Pitcher of the Year, CCA South Central Region Pitcher of the Year and NCBWA South Central Region Pitcher of the Year.
